Mary Ellen Clark

Mary Ellen Clark ( born December 25, 1962 in Abington ) is a former American Water Diving. She started in the art of jumping from the 1- m and 3- m- board and in the 10 -meter platform diving. 1992 and 1996 she won bronze medals in diving in two consecutive Olympics.

Clark came early to their sport because her mother was Diving trainer. But first successes came late, as she trained during her studies at Pennsylvania State University and later at Ohio State University in the college teams. It reached a total of six medals at College Championships. Their first international championship were the Pan American Games in 1987 in Indianapolis. Until then, Clark jumped mostly in springboard diving, they are now focused but more on the high dive. Her breakthrough finally came with the qualification for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. From 10- m tower she was able to win the bronze medal. Clark took only once at a World Cup finals, she performed in 1994 in Rome from 10 m tower and reached seventh place. After a lengthy injury lay-off and less successful Pan American Games in 1995 in Mar del Plata Clark played her last international competition at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Clark won seven national titles. Since 2004 she works as Trainierin at Amherst College, where she was able to perform several jumpers in the national top.
