Mary Martin

Mary Martin (born 1 December 1913 in Weatherford, Texas, † November 3, 1990 in Rancho Mirage, California ) was an American actress and musical singer.

Life

When she was twelve, she began taking singing lessons. 1929, before her 17th birthday, she married Benjamin J. Hagman. The marriage, from 1931 to her son, the actor Larry Hagman ( best known for his role as JR Ewing in the television series Dallas ), emerged, in 1936 divorced. She started in Dallas in nightclubs and singing on the radio until she was hired in 1939 at Paramount Pictures for the film three-quarter time on Broadway ( The Great Victor Herbert). In his second marriage in 1940 she married Richard Halliday, who died in an accident on their ranch in Brazil on March 3, 1973. Of the marriage was in 1941 a daughter, Heller Halliday, produce.
