Mary Woodard Lasker Award for Public Service

The Lasker ~ Bloomberg Public Service Award, and 2009 Mary Woodard Lasker Public Service Award, and 2000 Albert Lasker Public Service Award honors individuals or organizations that have been instrumental in the legislation, funding and positive public presentation of medical research and community health programs. He is irregular, has been awarded since 1946 every two years since 2000 by the Lasker Foundation and is with U.S. $ 300,000 prize (2009). The name change took place in 2000 in honor of the wife of the founder and longtime chairman of the Foundation, Mary Woodard Lasker, renamed in 2011 in honor of Michael R. Bloomberg and his struggle against the trivialization of tobacco smoking for economic reasons.
