Marylebone Cricket Club

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC ) is an English Cricket Club from 1787.

Although its jurisdiction is transferred for international cricket later than 1993 entirely on the International Cricket Council (ICC ), and its function as an English association today at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB ) is, the MCC alone is still responsible for establishing the Laws of Cricket (cricket rules ) responsible and holds the world on copyright.

Until about the turn of the century the MCC was responsible for virtually the whole world cricket umbrella organization. At that time the Board of Control for Test matches for internationals, the Advisory County Cricket Committee for the national professional sector and 1909 was the Imperial Cricket Conference set for more effective management. It remained on the whole to 1968, mainly of cricket took place as a thorough reorganization in England.

Since the MCC could expect as a private club no public funding, he founded the National Cricket Council as a loose federation and the Test and County Cricket Board ( TCCB ) as an association for professional sport. The MCC Cricket Association was transformed into the National Cricket Association, in charge of the amateur. This could flow into the cricket sports public funds.

It was only in the 90s, this structure was dissolved and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB ) has joined as uniform Cricket Association in its place.

The MCC is located on the Lord's Cricket Ground in St John's Wood in London, which is also the most famous cricket stadium in the world, often referred to as the Mecca of cricket. The members of the club enjoy privileges, so normally they must only enter the Pavilion ( clubhouse ), a large Victorian building dating back to 1889. A strict dress code is there, of course. In public, they are recognizable by their yellow-red striped ties and jackets. Female members are admitted under pressure from the government until 1998.

Lord's is also the seat of the ECB and one of the 18 first-class counties of Middlesex County Cricket Club. By the year 2005, the International Cricket Council (ICC ) was established there until he moved to Dubai. This is partly done for tax reasons, but also to the changing balance of power away from England ( and Australia), go to Asian countries to take into account.

The club took and does not participate in the championships. He maintains many teams battling it out friendlies in the UK and many cricket tours company abroad, including two trips to Germany in recent years.
