Geography

The community is located one half each in the Munich gravel plain and tertiary Donau -Isar hill country between the rivers Isar and Amper. History

Marzling was first mentioned in 804 as in the possession of the Freising Cathedral. Since the mid-12th century it was a Hofmark of the Bishopric of Freising and was from then on until the secularization in 1803 the cathedral chapter and the Bishopric of Freising. The Catholic parish church of St. Martin in Marzling was built in the late Middle Ages, a late Gothic building; remodeled in the Baroque period in 1715 and extended in 1864.
