Masaya Department

Masaya is the smallest department in Nicaragua.

The capital is the city of Masaya Masaya. The department has an area of 590 km ² and a total population of around 325,000 inhabitants ( 2006 calculation ) what / corresponds to a population density of about 550 inhabitants km ².

Economically dominated in Masaya mainly tobacco, coffee, sugar cane, jute and maize.

The Department of Masaya in turn is divided into nine Municipalities:
