Mascoutah is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) in St. Clair County in the central south-west of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010 Mascoutah had 7483 inhabitants.
The city is located in the Metro - East called the eastern part of the metropolitan area of Greater St. Louis the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri.
Geography
Mascoutah is located at 38 ° 29'25 " north latitude and 89 ° 47'35 " west longitude and extending over 25 km ². The city lies on the left bank of Silver Creek, a right tributary of the Kaskaskia River. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with Missouri, is located around 40 km to the west.
