Maserati Mexico

The Maserati Mexico was one of the Italian car manufacturer Maserati built from 1966 to 1973 Gran Turismo of the upper class.

Model history

At the Paris Salon in 1966 presented the Maserati Mexico (internal Tipo 112), a four-seater GT coupe with the luxury class sedan and V8 engine.

The Mexico fell to a Bertone prototype in 1965, but the production version was given a body by Vignale after a design by Michelotti.

Mexico was the first powered exclusively by a 4.7 -liter V8, which came to 290 hp with four Weber carburettors. In 1969 the smaller 4.2-liter V8 from the first Maserati Quattroporte with 260 hp was alternatively available. If the customer a vehicle was equipped with the 4.9 - liter engine of the Maserati Ghibli, and another with the 3.7- liter six-cylinder engine of the Maserati Mistral.

Until 1972/73 originated from Mexico 482 pieces.
