Maspalomas is an international holiday resort in the south of Gran Canaria. The village belongs to the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

Geography

Maspalomas is located at the southern tip of the island of Gran Canaria, on the coast of the Atlantic. In the southeast part of the site is separated by the Maspalomas dunes from the sea. Maspalomas consists mostly of tourist resorts and associated infrastructure. The place is divided into the following parts:

  • El Oasis: most southern part, consisting of the Faro ( lighthouse ) and the oldest holiday resorts ( 1960s )

Dunes of Maspalomas

History
