Masseteric artery

The masseteric artery is an artery of the primate head. It originates from the second ( inter-muscular ) section of the maxillary artery ( maxillary ) and goes through the mandibular notch of the mandible to the masseter muscle, which it supplies. Here it anastomoses with branches of the facial artery and transverse facial artery.

In animal anatomy, the vessel is referred to as Ramus masseteric ( " masseter branch " ), which originates usually from the external carotid artery and to the ramus ( ramus ) pulls into the muscle.
