Massimo Franciosa

Massimo Franciosa ( born July 23, 1924 in Rome, † March 31, 1998 ) was an Italian screenwriter and film director.

Life

Franciosa began his career as a journalist and essayist and tried in 1949 for the first time on a script. From 1955 he wrote almost exclusively for the film; among his contributions are numerous artistic and financial success. A year- long professional partnership with Pasquale Festa Campanile was, with whom he also directed two films co-directed before he staged some more alone. Since their was only marginally successful, he turned again in 1972 only the authorship of numerous screenplays for. Preferred genres Franciosas were the sentimental comedy, and comic films from the Neapolitan milieu.

Franciosa was nominated in 1964 for Le quattro giornate di Napoli for an Academy Award; In 1958 he won the award for Best Screenplay at Cannes. 1956 and 1963 he was both awarded the Nastro d' Argento.
