Master of Calamarca

With Master Calamarca the unnamed Latin American Baroque painter is called, has created two series of angels by about 1680 or 1750 for the church of Calamarca in today's Bolivia. His paintings in oil on wood are considered important examples of Latin American Baroque ( barroco americano ) in the former Viceroyalty of Peru. You show your own local style that combines color scheme and choice of motif elements of art and religious understanding of the local population with imported from Europe Baroque style.

Well known are the unusual paintings by the master of angels with firearms ( Arcabuces ).
