Master of Engineering

The Master of Engineering - in short, M.Eng. or MEng, in some countries, ME - is an academic degree that can be acquired through a Master's degree from an engineering science. There is a second job-qualifying university degree, which is based on an undergraduate bachelor's degree and also entitled for a promotion. Just as the bachelor's degree also entitle the diploma from a university as well as the Diploma I of a comprehensive university for a master's degree. The diploma of a university as well as the Diploma II an overall high school are academically equivalent to the Master 's degree.

Bologna Process

The Bologna process, the academic degree of Diplom- Engineer was in many higher education systems replaced by the bachelor's and master's degrees. The master, which takes another three to four semesters of the standard is equated with the diploma of a university as well as the Diploma II a total high school and has a total capacity of 300 ECTS points. The Master is here a consecutive program, which already completed a Bachelor's degree or diploma from a technical college as well as the Diploma I of a comprehensive university based. In Austria, the degree of Diploma Engineer is awarded to graduates of regular engineering science master's programs continue. The degree of "Master of Engineering" is, however, awarded for the graduates of university courses.
