Master of novices

As novice master or master is called in Christian order those Order members who are responsible for a particular phase of training.

If a new member of a religious order when he or she goes through a multi-year testing and training period and will remain (new novus from the latin =) as a postulant, candidate or novice. The novice master (or mistress of novices ) is specially designed for helping the novices to facilitate the growth into the religious life: In lectures, individual interviews, etc. He or she is the first contact in all personal, intellectual, disciplinary and other issues of novices.

Before admission to outfitting and later before the simple and solemn profession of the novice master is asked for his opinion, which naturally plays an important role.
