Mataranka, Northern Territory

Mataranka is a municipality in the Top End of Australia's Northern Territory.

The small town is located about 431 km southeast of the territorial capital of Darwin and about 114 kilometers south of Katherine. In the year 2006 252 inhabitants were counted in the Australian census.

The small town of Mataranka is located on the Roper River and on the Stuart Highway and close to the famous hot springs of Mataranka Hot Springs in Elsey National Park, the bitter and the Rainbow Springs.
