The Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovak: Univerzita Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystřicí, short MBU ) is a public university located in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. With approximately 15,000 students and 756 academic staff ( 2005), the University, the third largest in the country.

History

The Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica was established on 1 July 1992 and is named after the Slovak historians, theologians and educators Matej Bel.

The Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica is divided into eight faculties:
