Mathew Helm

Glen Mathew Helm ( born December 9, 1980 in Bourke ) is a former Australian diver. He started in the 10 m tower and 10-meter synchronized diving. He won two medals at the Olympics and won a world title. His synchro partner was Robert Newbery.

Helmet participated in three Olympic Games. He started in each individual from the 10 m tower and the 10-meter synchronized diving with Robert Newbery. In Sydney in 2000 he was eighth from the tower and fifth in synchronized diving. In Athens in 2004, he won two medals. From the tower, he won silver, bronze in synchronized diving. In Beijing in 2008 he was the tower sixth and synchronized diving he missed a fourth medal scarce.

Helm took in 2001 in Fukuoka for the first time participated in the World Cup. From the 10 m tower, he won bronze in the synchronized competition he finished fourth. In the 2003 World Cup in Barcelona helmet also managed a first title win. He won with Newbery in the 10m synchronized diving. In addition, he won the 10 m tower silver.

A double win was helmet at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. He won the 10 m tower and synchronized diving.

Helmet finished his career first by the Commonwealth Games in 2006 but launched a comeback for the 2008 Olympics. Today he works as a coach. Helmet lives openly homosexual.
