Mathias Jung

Mathias Jung ( born December 17, 1958 in Trusetal ) is a former German biathlete.

Mathias Jung started for the ASK forward Oberhof, where he was trained by Herbert Kirchner, Dietmar evil and Hartmut summer. At the Junior World Championships in 1978 and 1979, he won with the seasons of the GDR each individual gold and the silver medals. In the Biathlon World Championships 1981 in Lahti, the GDR relay won with Jung as a starter as well as in 1982 in Minsk gold. 1983 in Antholz was again added silver. Best individual score in a World Cup was a fourth place in the individual Lahti. After his playing career Jung, who is a qualified electrician worked in the ski workshop of the VEB Kombinat sports equipment in Schmalkalden.
