Mathis Olimb

Mathis Olimb ( born February 1, 1986 in Oslo) is a Norwegian ice hockey player who is under contract with Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien since 2011. His brother Ken André is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Mathis Olimb began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at Vålerenga IF for the first team he made his debut was in the GET ligaen in the season 2002/ 03 and with her in his career, Norwegian champion was the first time right away in his rookie year. Following this success, he moved innherlab the highest Norwegian league to Manglerud Star Ishockey, for which he in the main round in a total of 35 games 20 scorer points, including nine goals scored. Before the season 2004/ 05 he left Manglerud since the club was demoted to the second division due to financial problems. The entire 2004/05 season spent Olimb in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League, where he stood for the London Knights and Sarnia Sting on the ice. Then, the attacker returned for two years in his native Norway, where he played for Vålerenga IF, with whom he again won the Norwegian championship titles in 2006 and 2007. In the 2006/07 season, he was also best assist provider in the league.

In the summer of 2007 Olimb received a contract with the Augsburger Panther of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. There he was in his two years with the Panthers to lead his team and players scored in 97 games 80 scorer points, including 27 goals. For the 2009/10 season he was obliged by Frölunda HC of the Swedish Elitserien. There he was able to convince 38 scorer points, of which ten goals in 62 games, after which he signed a contract as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks, for their farm team Rockford IceHogs it in the 2010/11 season in 59 games ten goals and 22 Templates achieved in the American Hockey League. For the 2011/12 season he returned to the Frölunda HC in the Elitserien back.

Internationally

For Norway Olimb took at junior level at the U18 Junior B 's World Cup 2003, the Under-18 junior national teams in 2002 and 2004 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and the Under-20 Junior World Cup in 2006 in part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships A- 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 and at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
