MathJax

MathJax is a cross-browser -based JavaScript library that mathematical formulas and equations in browsers that support LaTeX and MathML markup include, in graphical form. They will be released as free software ( open source ) under Apache license. The project was the successor to the earlier JavaScript library in 2009 - started and managed by Design Science - jsMath.

Function

MathJax does not require installation of additional fonts or your own software on the user's system. This allows MathJax in any browser to run JavaScript support, including mobile devices. The display of mathematical content is made possible by a combination of HTML and CSS, or by using a browser with native MathML support, if available.

The applied by the JavaScript library display method depends on the respective capabilities of the applied by the user browser and the fonts of the used system and the used configuration settings. In the case of HTML and CSS sets MathJax maximizes the display quality with mathematical fonts ( if available) and by the use of images for older browsers.

In newer browsers that support web fonts, MathJax provides a comprehensive set of web fonts available for download.

Browser Compatibility

MathJax runs on most major browsers, including Internet Explorer 6, Mozilla Firefox 3, Google Chrome 0.3, Safari 2.0, Opera 9.5, iPhone / iPad Safari and Android browser, as well as later versions of these browsers. Some older browsers are no longer supported.

Integration

Editor Compatibility

Each MathJax equation, which is displayed in a supportive browsers can be copied in MathML or LaTeX format. Each editor that supports this format (such as Mathematica, MathType, MathMagic, FireMath ), thereby allowing further use.
