Matilda (song)

Matilda (also Mathilda ) is a traditional calypso with an essay by Norman Span, who was known by his pseudonym King Radio. In part, the authorship is attributed to Harry Thomas, a pseudonym for Harry Belafonte and the guitarist Millard Thomas. The song was originally recorded by Norman chip 1938. In 1953 recorded by Harry Belafonte version of the song became an international hit and one of the cornerstones of Belafonte's career.
