Matt Barnes

Matt Kelly Barnes ( born March 9, 1980 in Santa Clara, California) is an American professional basketball player. He plays with the Los Angeles Clippers in the National Basketball Association.

High School

Barnes attended Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks (California ) and was a member of the football team and basketball.

NBA

After his time at the University of California, Los Angeles Barnes reported in 2002 to the NBA Draft. He was drafted in the second round as the 46th pick by the Memphis Grizzlies. He was later transferred to Wesley Person to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was released in October before the start of the season. After that he played until the end of the season in the NBA Development League ( "D -League ") for the Fayetteville Patriots.

2004 Barnes played briefly for the Los Angeles Clippers but later signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings. He was then transferred to the 2004/2005 season along with Chris Webber to the Philadelphia 76ers, but was able to complete a single game due to a knee problem and was subsequently dismissed.

In summer 2005, Barnes then signed as a free agent contract with the New York Knicks. During the season, he was released after six games of the Knicks. Barner finished the season with the 76ers Philadelphia.

His breakthrough finally managed to Barnes at the Golden State Warriors .. When Mike Dunleavy, Jr. could not meet the expectations of the coach, Barnes got more and more playing time. This increase he used, and improved his stats.
