Matt Freeman

Matthew " McCall " Freeman (born 1966 in Albany, California) is the bassist for the punk band Rancid.

He grew up in a suburb of Berkeley, where he met Tim Armstrong, with whom he founded in 1987 Operation Ivy. After its dissolution in 1989, he played in Downfall, a sign identical to Operation Ivy project, as well as in the political hardcore band MDC and called in 1991 with Tim Armstrong Rancid to life. In 2004, he worked for Social Distortion for a short time.

Freeman plays both punk rock, ska, reggae and occasionally funk and rockabilly.

In addition to Rancid Matt Freeman also plays in various side projects such as The Transplants, and the band Devil's Brigade, where the bassist has worked as a lead singer.
