Matt Hussey

Matthew Hussey ( born May 28, 1979 in New Haven, Connecticut ) is an American professional ice hockey player who plays in the German Ice Hockey League for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers since December 2013.

Career

Born in Connecticut Hussey was selected during the NHL Entry Draft in 1998 by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the ninth round in a total of 254 point. First, he played in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, a U.S. college league in game operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the University team from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. In 2002, the Center of the Penguins organization joined and was active in the 2002/03 season for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the farm team of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the American Hockey League. In the 2003 /04 season Hussey completed three games for Pittsburgh in the NHL and was able to score three points in the remaining course of the season he was reinstated in the AHL.

While the attacker ran aground in the following season for Wilkes -Barre, he was in the 2005 /06 again 13 times for the Pittsburgh Penguins on the ice. This season has been his most successful to date in the AHL, as the Americans with 34 points was the most successful scorer of his team. In the 2006/07 season the links Sagittarius moved to the Detroit Red Wings, for whom he played five times in the NHL, but the skates laced most of the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL.

After the Americans was active in the season 2007/ 08 for the Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL, he moved to Europe during the season and signed a contract with Jokerit Helsinki there from the Finnish SM- liiga. In summer 2008, Hussey was committed by the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga and equipped with a one-year contract. For the season 2009/10 the Centre moved to league rivals ERC Ingolstadt, where he played until the end of the 2010/11 season. On October 17, 2011 Matt Hussey was taken back as a striker for the Straubing Tigers under contract. Since the 2013/14 season Hussey is in the DEL with the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers Nuremberg on the ice.
