Matt Lashoff

Matthew Lashoff ( born September 29, 1986 in East Greenbush, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player who was most recently with the ZSC Lions in the National League A under contract. His brother Brian is also a professional hockey player.

Career

The 1.88 m tall defender started his career in the funding of the U.S. Ice Hockey Federation USA Hockey and then moved to the Kitchener Rangers in the Canadian top junior league Ontario Hockey League. NHL Entry Draft 2005 Links shooter was finally selected as 22 in the first round by the Boston Bruins.

From Boston Lashoff was from the end of the 2005/06 season, especially with the Providence Bruins, the farm team in the American Hockey League used, but on 26 October 2006, he was also his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins. On 31 December 2007, the defensive player finally in the game against the Atlanta Thrashers scored his first goal in the top North American professional league. In August 2010 he was transferred from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Alex Berry and Stefano Giliati to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In the following two seasons Lashoff was mainly for their AHL farm team Toronto Marlies regularly on the ice. A knee injury suffered in October 2011 in an AHL game against the Lake Erie Monsters limited the operating time of the defender to only nine games in the regular season. In the subsequent playoffs Lashoff held the position of assistant captain and reached the finals series with the Marlies to the Calder Cup, but was defeated with a sweep of the Norfolk Admirals.

In August 2012, the Americans first took part in a try-out of the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League A. After three weeks, he signed a one-year contract with the people of Zurich.
