Matt Nix

Matt Nix ( born September 4, 1971 in Los Angeles, California) is an American screenwriter, director and film producer.

Life

Nix initially attended high school in Sebastopol and subsequently studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1997 he turned his twenty minute short film Chekhov 's Gun, for which he had also written the screenplay. This was followed by the mid- 2000s some more short films. In 2006 he developed the concept for the TV series Burn Notice. The pilot film, in which, among other things Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless were shown was purchased by USA Network and given a first season with a total of twelve episodes in order. Since the series was a success with the public, other squadrons were commissioned; 2012 will broadcast the sixth season in the U.S.. Nix is involved in many ways in the series; he wrote the script for 79 episodes, served as executive producer on 60 episodes and resulted in three episodes of the Director. In 2011 he wrote and produced Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe, the prequel to the series with Bruce Campbell in the lead role. Developed in 2010 Nix the concept for the crime series The Good Guys. Unlike Burn Notice, however, this series achieved only moderate ratings. Fox presented the series after the first season one with 20 episodes.

Nix is the great-grandson of the 1942 Oscar-nominated screenwriter Harry Chandlee.
