Life and career
Matthew Brandon Ross was born in 1970 in Greenwich, Connecticut. He moved from Ashland, Oregon to New York to pursue studies at the Juilliard School of Drama. After graduating from Julliard, he was still a student at New York University, thereafter to concentrate fully on a career as a film and television actor.
Ross played in the 1990s numerous film roles, including the 1995 in Terry Gilliam's science fiction film 12 Monkeys, 1996, the male lead in John Walsh's romantic comedy In the beginning there was love in 1997 in John Woo's thriller In the body of the enemy. 1998 to cast him in Whit Stillman's musical film The Last Days of Disco and Stephen Gyllenhaal thriller Homegrown. In 1999, he starred in Mike Newell's comedy turmoil - and other disasters alongside John Cusack, Billy Bob Thornton, Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie.
