Matteo Contini

Matteo Contini ( born April 16, 1980 in Gemonio (VA), Italy) is an Italian football player. He spent much of his professional career in Italy.

Career

From July 2007 to January 2010 Contini played as a defender for Napoli in Serie A.

On 27 January 2010, Napoli announced the loan of defender until end of the season at the Spanish club Real Zaragoza. The Spaniards were also promised a purchase option. In his second game for Zaragoza he scored his first goal in La Liga and thus contributed to the 2-1 victory over Sevilla. At the end of the loan period the Aragonese club took advantage of his option and secured for 2.3 million euros the services of the Italian who signed a three-year fixed-term contract.

Despite its least 24 appearances in the league, he was first awarded in the summer of 2011 for a year at the Italian first division side AC Siena, before he finally joined the 2012/13 season in the Toscana.
