Matteo Tosatto ( born May 14, 1974 in Castelfranco Veneto, Veneto ) is an Italian racing cyclist.
Sports career
Matteo Tosatto began his career in 1997 with the cycling team MG- Technogym. There he took part in his first year at the Tour de France. In 1998 he moved to Ballan, where it was two years before he went to Fassa Bortolo. There he first won a stage at Paris- Nice, finishing second in Around the Henninger Tower and went three days in Pink at the Giro d'Italia 2000. The following year he won a stage.
2002 Tosatto chose the Italian one-day race Coppa Placci for themselves. In the 2004 season he wins the Giro di Toscana and get at the GP Kanton Aargau. He was second in the prologue of the Giro d' Italia 2005. As of 2006 drove Tosatto for the Belgian ProTour team Quick · Step. In the first year he made his biggest success: he won the 18th stage of the Tour de France. By 2013 he had been nine times in the Tour de France, ten times the Giro d' Italia and eight times in the Vuelta a España at the start.
2011 moved Tosatto the Danish team Saxo Bank. There he is to act primarily as " Capitaine de route " and bring to race his experience in the team.
