Matthew Dillon

Matthew " Matt" Dillon ( born July 1, 1966) is an American open-source software developers.

After studying at the University of California, Berkeley, he founded the Internet service provider BEST.

He first developed for the Amiga computer. He was known primarily for his DICE C compiler, the assembler DASM, the editor DME and the porting of UUCP on the Amiga.

From 1997 he was a FreeBSD developer, where he developed mainly on the VM subsystem. In 2003 he fell out with the FreeBSD developers and founded the DragonFly BSD project.

He is also the author of the USENET server software and Diablo dcron, a cron daemon for Linux.
