Matthew Lloyd ( born May 24, 1983 in Melbourne) is an Australian racing cyclist.

Career

Matthew Lloyd won in 2004, a stage of the Herald Sun Tour in Australia. A few months later he could still decide a stage of the Tour of Wellington in itself and so also won the overall standings. This he placed in the final results of the UCI Oceania Tour 2005 on the fourth. In 2006 he drove for the Continental team SouthAustralia.com - AIS where he won, among others, a stage of the Tour of Japan and later in the Herald Sun Tour. As of the 2007 season, Lloyd will go for the Belgian ProTour team Predictor -Lotto at the start. In 2009, he was severely injured in the Amstel Gold Race. In the 2010 Giro d'Italia Lloyd reached next to a stage win the final victory in the mountains classification.

On 15 April 2011 his team Omega Pharma-Lotto interrupted collaboration with Lloyd because of undisclosed personal differences.
