Matthew Porterfield

Matthew " Matt" Porterfield ( born October 7, 1977 in Baltimore, Maryland ) is an American film director, screenwriter and actor.

Life and work

Porterfield studied film at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, studying but then ended prematurely. He then worked for several years as a teacher in a nursery school, before returning to Baltimore. In 2006 his rotated in 16 - mm film debut Hamilton, responsible recorded at the Porterfield wrote, directed and cut. His second film Putty Hill appeared in 2010. Published his 2013 film I Used to Be Darker was shown in the Forum of the 63rd International Film Festival Berlin.

Porterfield taught in the subjects screenwriting and film production in the Film and Media Studies Program at Johns Hopkins University.
