Matthew Stephens (cyclist)

Matthew Stephens ( born January 4, 1970 in Crewe) is a former British road bicycle racer from England.

Matthew Stephens won the 1989 Rating Hessen- tour. At the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, he took part in the road race, where he finished in 61st place. In 1995 he won the Tom Simpson Memorial. In 1998, he turned professional with the British cycling team Harrods - Giant - Sixt Principia Finish Power and won the road race in the national championship. The following year, Stephens joined the Linda McCartney Racing Team. Here he again won the Tom Simpson Memorial, in 2000 took part in the Giro d' Italia and won the 2001 Manx International. In 2003 he was successful in the overall standings of the Tour of Northumberland. As of 2010, Stephens travels sports Specialized for the UCI Continental Team Sigma. After 2011 Paris -Troyes broke his knee, he finished his career.
