The Matthews Arena ( formerly known as Boston Arena) in Boston, Massachusetts ( USA), the world's oldest still operating ice rink is.

History

The ice rink was opened in 1910 as the Boston Arena and is now located at the eastern end of the North Eastern University, which is also the owner of the stadium today. The arena was the first home ground of the Hockey Teams Boston Bruins and New England Whalers and the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association.

By 1982, the sports complex retained the name Boston Arena before the also known as Northeastern Arena stadium received today, the university members George J. Matthews dedicated name Matthews Arena.
