Matthias Becker
Matthias Becker ( born April 19, 1974 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German football player.
Career
After he had previously played in the youth teams of DJK Zeilsheim, Matthias Becker came in 1987 to Eintracht Frankfurt. In the 1993/94 season he was first taken as a contractual amateur into the professional squad of the team. His debut in the Bundesliga was the talented striker on 19 March 1994 at the Game against Dynamo Dresden on matchday 26 this season. He capped a strong performance in 29 minutes with his goal to 1:0 ( Eintracht won the game 4-0 gates ). So having drawn attention to himself, he was invited on the same day in the gym Current ZDF and scored a mandatory goal shooting five hits - which he set the still- existing record. By the end of this season he came twice to use.
In the following season, he had to content himself mainly with the role of the Joker, which he fulfilled in 11 brief appearances with 2 goals. After the departure of star striker Anthony Yeboah January Furtok and he succeeded in the 1995/96 season of the breakthrough and he became a regular player. However, his weak strike rate of just one goal in 23 events contributed significantly to the decline of Eintracht Frankfurt in 1996.
