Matthias Dollinger

Matthias Dollinger ( born September 12, 1979 in Klagenfurt) is an Austrian football player at the position of midfielder.

Career

Matthias Dollinger ( known among fans affectionately called " Great Mottinger " ) began his professional career in the Austrian second division DSV Leoben in 2001. During his first season playing for the club he scored seven goals, one year later eleven goals. This season, the DSV Leoben just missed out on promotion to the Bundesliga and second in the table. Dollinger himself but managed this with the change to Grazer AK 2003.

In the first season in the Bundesliga midfielder managed with the GAK immediately winning the championship and the OFB Cup. Thus, the GAK was justified in the next season of participation in the Champions League qualifiers. In the Championship 2004 /05 GAK narrowly failed and was runner-up. After a temporary commitment to Rapid Matthias Dollinger joined in January 2007 to LASK Linz in the second-class First League, where he signed a contract until 2008. After he had risen to the LASK, he moved to the winter break 07/ 08 for first division side SC Swan City. After the end of the season the newly formed FC Magna Wiener Neustadt got the license from Upper Austria Dollinger joined the Bundesliga side SK Austria Kärnten. After the bankruptcy of Austria Kärnten 2010 he moved to third division SK Austria Klagenfurt.

Matthias Dollinger debuted in November 2002 in the match against Norway for the Austrian national team. At that time he was still playing in the second division.

In December 2012, it was announced that Dollinger continue to act as spokesman for the sports team Stronach for Carinthia and this will assist in the Carinthian state election in March 2013.
