Matthias Hagner

Matthias Hagner ( born August 15, 1974 in Gießen) is a former German football player and current coach.

Club career

Hagner began his career as a footballer at his hometown club FC Burgsolms. From there, he moved in 1992 to Eintracht Frankfurt. There he reached while in the 1995/96 season with ten goals his best personal balance, increased with the concord but from.

Between 1996 and 1998 he played for VfB Stuttgart, with whom he was in 1997 DFB Cup winners. He then spent two years actively Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he descended for the second time in 1999. After that he played between 2001 and December 2002 at Greuther Fürth. There, however, he could not prevail and denied in the 2 years in Fürth only ten games.

After a year in the Oberliga side FSV Frankfurt is a three-year commitment for the second division 1 FC Saarbrücken joined. After his descent into the Regionalliga Süd Hagner moved back to FSV Frankfurt in the Oberliga Hessen. The FSV he managed between 2006 and 2008 the walkover in the 2nd Bundesliga. For the 2009/10 season Hagner moved to Eintracht Wetzlar in the fifth division Hesse center and increased with the club at the end of the season in the league Hesse. Because of disagreements Hagner left the club during the winter break of the season 2010/11.

Hagner played a total of 102 Bundesliga games with 22 goals and 79 games with nine goals in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Coaching career

In the season 2011/12 Hagner coached the Central Association of Hessian division club VfB Gießen, after he had already gained experience with the second team of FSV Frankfurt between 2006 and 2007. After his involvement in Giessen, he was responsible in the season 2012/13 the Hesse -division FSV Braunfels. For the 2013/14 season Hagner signed in mid-April a one-year contract as coach of the second team of Sportfreunde Siegen, where he inherited Daniel Cartus. After the change of Michael Boris to Sportfreunde Lotte in January 2014 Hagner took over his position as head coach of the first team.
