Matthias Maucksch ( born June 11, 1969 in Dresden ) is a former German football player and current coach.
Career as a player
Association
Matthias Maucksch began the age of seven at Dynamo Dresden playing football. His biggest success in the youth field was winning the GDR students master 1984. Having made his debut in 1987 in the GDR Oberliga denied Maucksch won the East German championship with Dynamo in 1989 and 1990. After the German reunification, he played for the Dresden in the 1st Bundesliga. His total of 118 Bundesliga appearances for Dynamo are currently club record.
After the people of Dresden 1995, the license for the Bundesliga had been revoked, he moved to VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga 2. Despite the rise of left Maucksch 1997 VfL and went to VfB Leipzig. A year later he gave for the 1st FC Nuremberg his Bundesliga comeback, but could not prevail as master players. This was followed by Energie Cottbus and FV Dresden 06 At the end of his active career he played for VfL Pirna- Copitz in the national league Saxony.
National
His only use for the GDR national team came Maucksch on 24 January 1990 the 0-3 defeat against France.
Coaching career
After Maucksch had acquired the coaching license, he first trained the Saxon district division Döbelner SC. In October 2007, he returned to Dynamo Dresden, where he first coached the reserve team. His first success as a coach, he celebrated in the 2008 /09 season by winning the championship Saxony and Saxony Cup. After the sacking of Ruud Kaiser Maucksch was promoted in October 2009 to coach the first team he supervised up to his leave of absence on April 12, 2011. His dismissal took place after a losing streak of three games in the battle for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
