Matthieu Chedid

Matthieu Chedid ( born December 21, 1971 in Boulogne- Billancourt, Hauts -de -Seine département, France), also known by his pen -M, is a French rock singer and guitarist.

Beginnings and private life

Matthieu Chedid is the son of French singer Louis Chedid and grandson of the French poet and writer Andrée Chedid, who also wrote lyrics for him. Chedid began very early to make music. In 1978 he sang with his sister on his father Emile an album. In the years after, he founded several bands, such as Tam Tam ( with Mathieu Boogaerts ), Les Poissons rouges Bébés fous or Les. With age, he worked on the side of Philippe Chatel, Nina Morato, NTM, Sinclair and Billy Ze Kick. In addition, Chedid was involved in Faudels first album ( Baida ), which appeared in 1997.

Career

His first album, Le Baptême, appeared in 1997, which he recorded together with Phillippe Zdar. It contains among other things the song Machistador, which was a great success. Inspired by the birth of his daughter, Chedid began in 2002 his third album ( Qui de nous deux? ) To write, which was released in November 2003. In addition, he composed the soundtracks of the films Peau d'ange and Les Triplets de Belleville. In another tour, he participated in the Francofolies de Montréal in 2004. The tour ended with Chedids appearance in Olympia, on the side of the French singer Cali.

Louis Chedid and Pierre -Dominique Burgaud wrote in 2006 a musical called Le Soldat Rose in which Matthieu Chedid played the role of toy soldiers, which is sad because he was separated from his fiancée. In February 2007, he was awarded a César for best film music for his soundtrack to the film Ne le dis à personne. In addition, he accompanied the same year Vanessa Paradis on their tour and produced their new album. His fifth album ( Myster Mystère ), published in 2009, was a collaboration with Brigitte Fontaine. In 2010, he was instrumental on the album Jamais Seul Johnny Hallyday from, from which, however, was not a great success. He also assisted his father in his album.
