Mattias Andersson (born 29 March 1978 in Malmö) is a Swedish handball goalkeeper.
Andersson started playing handball at Ystad IF HF. In his youth, he was trained by his father, among others, Thomas, who ran aground in the 1970s for the handball team of IFK Malmö. Mattias was first used at the age of 17 years in the Elitserien. In 1999, he joined HK Drott. In April 2001 he moved to FC Barcelona, in order to represent the injured goalkeeper David Barrufet. In summer 2001, he signed a contract with German Bundesliga THW Kiel. There he was behind Henning Fritz and later Thierry Omeyer each second goalkeeper. He extended his contract expiring in 2008 with THW not and moved to TV Großwallstadt. For the 2011/12 season Andersson moved to SG Flensburg- Handewitt and received a contract until 2013, has been extended until 2015.
For the Swedish national team, he was 104 times in use. At the 2000 European Championships in Croatia, he won the title. He was also in the squad for the Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney, arrived there but not used. He also played in the European Championship 2010. At the Olympic Games 2012 in London won Andersson Sweden with the silver medal.
