Maubourguet

Maubourguet is a commune with 2448 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Midi-Pyrénées region in the Hautes -Pyrénées; it belongs to the administrative district in the canton of Tarbes and Maubourguet, whose capital it is.

The town is located on the Camino Via Tolosana.

Geography

The community is located about 25 km north of Tarbes. Neighboring communities of Maubourguet are:

• Estirac in the north,
• Auriébat in the Northeast,
• Sauveterre in the east,
• Lafitole in the southeast,
• Nouilhan in the south,
• Larreule in the southwest,
• Lahitte - Toupière in the west and
• Sombrun in the northwest.

The Adour River runs through the town and takes just north of it left the river echez on. The Estéous runs along the eastern boundary of the municipality and opens later also in the Adour.

By Maubourguet was in 2012, the 15th stage of the Tour de France.
