Maubuisson Abbey

The Abbey of Notre -Dame -la- Royale de Maubuisson is a Cistercian monastery, founded in 1236 by Blanche of Castile. It is located in the commune of Saint -Ouen- l'Aumône in the department of Val- d'Oise.

Maubuisson lost its religious function during the French Revolution and in 1793 military hospital, then quarry, mill and farm. Classified in 1947 as a " monument historique ", it was established in 1979 owned by the Conseil général of the department. Maubuisson now houses contemporary art exhibitions.

The barn, chapter house, the parlor, the nuns hall and the former latrines are publicly available.
