Maung Maung Kha

U Maung Maung Kha ( * 1920, † April 30, 1995 in Yangon ) Myanmar was a politician. From 1977 to 1988 he was Prime Minister under General Ne Win.

Even during the period of Japanese occupation of Burma, he graduated from the Military Academy. As the result of a coup d'etat by General Ne Win in 1962, the Revolutionary Council took power, Maung Maung Kha was in the rank of Colonel Secretary, Ministry of Industry. On September 23, 1972 he was appointed Ne Win as industry minister to the cabinet.

After the proclamation of the Socialist Federal Republic of Burma on January 4, 1974 Ne Win put on 4 March of the same year, the Office of the Prime Minister down. His successor was Brigadier General Sein Win, until he was replaced on 29 March Maung Maung Kha 1977.

After there had been deaths during police evacuation of protesters during the growing unrest in the country, Ne Win was Socialist Programme released on 26 July 1988 by the Central Committee of the Burma party as Chairman, President U San Yu, who had already replaced Ne Win in 1981, Maung Maung Kha and Prime Minister had to resign. Successor in the office of the Prime Minister, U to the coup led by General Saw Maung on September 18, 1988 Tun Tin.
