Maurice Guigue

Maurice Alexandre Guigue (* August 4, 1912 in Arles, † 27 February 2011) was a French football referee.

Career

Highlight of his career was the participation in the Football World Cup 1958 in Sweden. He led two group matches: On 8 June 1958, the group match between Brazil and Austria and on 15 June 1958, the group match between Brazil and the USSR. He also directed on 17 June 1958, the playoff for third place 2 in group 1 between Northern Ireland and Czechoslovakia where he directed the Czechoslovaks Titus Bubernik of the field.

On June 29, 1958, he had the game lead the final of the 1958 World Cup between Brazil and Sweden in Råsundastadion in Solna. In total, he served for four games at this World Cup. In addition, he was employed on 19 June 1958 at the quarterfinal match between Brazil and Wales as an assistant. His international farewell he gave on 21 February 1962, the game at the European Champions Cup 1961/62 between Real Madrid and Juventus, the Madrid 1-0 could decide for themselves.

National, he headed the French Cup final of 1956 in the UA Sedan- Torcy defeated the team of AS Troyes - Savinienne 3-1.
