Maurice Journeau

Maurice Journeau ( born November 17, 1898 in Biarritz, † June 9, 1999 in Versailles) was a French composer and pianist.

Journeau took from April 1917 in the First World War and had it interrupt his studies, which he in the years 1920-1922 normal at the École de Musique de Paris with Nadia Boulanger, a French composer, continued.

After his marriage Journeau lived 1926-1936 in Nice, where he wrote for violin and piano works that have been interpreted by Gil Graven.

In 1936 he moved to Paris, where he wrote most of his works (mostly for piano, his favorite musical instrument ). In the fifties his works were also performed in public.
