Maurice Leroy

Maurice Leroy ( born February 2, 1959 in Paris ) is a French economist and politician of the Union pour la démocratie française (UDF ) and the Nouveau Centre ( NC), the 2012 was Minister of the cities from November 2010 to May.

Life

Rise to Mayor

After schooling Leroy studied economics and was after graduation worked as an economist. In the early 1980s, he joined the civil service and was the first between 1982 and 1984 Head of Office of the Mayor of Orly before he was subsequently to 1990, secretary for Finance, Social and General Secretary of the Parti Communiste group of français ( PCF) in the Senate.

He was elected mayor of the municipality in the department of Le Poislay Loir-et -Cher in 1989 and held this office until 2001.
