Maurice Rosy

Maurice Rosy ( born November 17, 1927 in Fontaine- l'Évêque, † February 23, 2013 in Paris) was a Belgian comic book writer.

Life and work

In 1954 he started his career as a comic book writer and " ideas " for the publishing house Dupuis, where he rose within two years as the artistic director of the magazine Spirou. Together with the chief editor Yvan Delporte, he was largely responsible for the success of the magazine in the 1950s and 1960s. Beginning of the 1970s, he decided to hand over responsibility for Spirou in younger hands and left Dupuis to pursue a new career as a copywriter and illustrator in Paris. While Rosys line activities were "mini- stories " established, among other things, to which he contributed in 1959 to the first scenario by Jean Roba Boule et Bill. Previously, Rosy was already co-author of the book co-authored with André Franquin Spirou and Fantasio - adventure mushrooms for the dictator and deep sleep for the whole city.
