Mauro Bergamasco

Mauro Bergamasco ( born May 1, 1979 in Padova ) is an Italian rugby union player who is active for Stade Français and the Italian national team. He plays the position of winger.

Bergamasco comes from a rugby loving family, his father Arturo was also a winger for Italy and his brother Mirco plays with him at Stade Français and the national team. He started at the age of five years with the rugby club at Selvazzano Rugby, which was coached by his father. His nickname gioiellino ( little gem ) comes from his early days as a professional in Petrarca Padova Rugby.
