Mauro Ribeiro

Mauro Ribeiro ( born July 19, 1964 in Curitiba ) is a Brazilian former racing cyclist. He has had some successes during his career. Of particular note, however, that as far (July 2011 ) brought him the only Brazilian to win a stage of the Tour de France. In 1991 he sat on the eighth day according to Section 161 kilometers of Alencon to Rennes by. He finished the tour - the only one of his career - 47th in the overall standings and is therefore also the first party of Brazil, which has survived the Tour de France until the final in Paris. In 1996 he represented his native country at the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. For the road race he finished only the 91st place.

Nowadays Ribeiro is technical director of the team extra Suzano and operates a business for sportswear in Curitiba.
