Mauro Zani

Mauro Zani ( born November 22, 1949 in Sala Bolognese, Italy) is an Italian politician and Member of the European Parliament with the party national leadership of the Left, which is part of the Party of European Socialists. He is a member of the Development Committee.

Zani 's representative in the Committee on International Trade, a member of the Delegation to the ACP -EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and deputy in the Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council.

  • 1976-1980: Member of the Regional Council of Emilia Romagna
  • Member of the Provincial Council (1980-1990) and city council (1990-1992) of Bologna
  • 1985-1987: Vice President and later President of the Provincial Council of Bologna
  • 1994-2004: Member of the Chamber of Deputies
  • 1996-2001: Vice-Chairman of the DS Ulivo Group
  • 2001-2004: Vice- Chairman of the Standing Committee on the policy of the European Union
